Water Is Life
Water is a fundamental human right, yet access to clean water remains a significant challenge in many parts of Africa, including Ethiopia. An estimated 68% of the Ethiopian population lacks this basic necessity.
At Take Care of Home, we are committed to providing comprehensive solutions to the communities we serve. As part of our Water is Life initiative, we are prioritizing the installation of water lines in rural areas. By ensuring access to clean water, we are not only improving health and living conditions but also empowering young girls to pursue their education. Traditionally, girls are burdened with the arduous task of fetching water for their families, which can significantly hinder their educational progress.
By providing clean water, we are helping to break down these barriers and create a more equitable future for all.
2025- Repair of School’s submersible well pump
We repaired a school’s submersible well pump, restoring a critical source of clean water for approximately 2,000 students.
The well had been largely out of operation for nearly three years due to inadequate repairs and ongoing challenges with its management and maintenance. With the necessary repairs completed, the well was restored to working condition, once again providing the school community with reliable access to potable water.
This project reflects our continued commitment to expanding access to clean, safe, and reliable water—both in public schools and for underserved families who lack dependable access to water at home.
2021 - Water line installation
We installed 35 water lines for 35 families who previously lived without direct access to a centralized water supply. By connecting these homes to a reliable source of water, the project helped reduce the daily burden of obtaining water and improved access to this essential resource for each household.
